A leading prestigious technology firm and distributor of Electronic Components is looking to expand its external sales team. This is a full-time role with a competitive of up to £70k base plus benefits and is field based, covering the whole of the UK.

As the business development engineer, you will be primarily responsible for increasing the design pipeline through new customer development and increasing current customer penetration, as well as managing customer relationships with the sales team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance the design pipeline through strategic customer development
  • Identify and generate new relationships with clients
  • Develop and maintain existing relationships with clients
  • Develop new design opportunities
  • Follow up on all leads
  • Promote the company catalogue items and value-added services
  • Collaborating closely with the Field Sales, Engineering and Product teams
  • Manage and organise client appointments and visits
  • Maintain technical product knowledge


  • Robust understanding of computing, display and connectivity principles
  • Proven track record in developing new business wins and strategies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience managing one’s own diary and appointment booking
  • Experience conducting face-to-face meetings
