This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and customer-focused professional looking to join a leading provider of electronic solutions. We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Account Manager to drive business growth and maintain strong client relationships. This role involves managing key accounts, identifying new opportunities, and working across industries such as transportation, medical, industrial, and renewable energy. The Account Manager will collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions, including custom cable assemblies and a range electronics components. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales and negotiation skills, a technical mindset, and a proven ability to foster long-term partnerships. With a strong industry reputation and a commitment to innovation, this role offers an exciting opportunity for career advancement in a dynamic and growing organisation. Ideally based in Manchester/Liverpool or surrounding areas to cover North Midlands up to Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Expand sales area revenue and develop new business in line with agreed budget targets. Proactively pursue new customer accounts to fuel growth.
  • Client Relationship Management: Maintain and nurture strong relationships with customers while addressing any issues that arise.
  • Project Support: Contribute to the management and coordination of new projects, ensuring successful execution and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Customer Engagement: Conduct regular, in-person visits to clients, fostering relationships and representing the company professionally and effectively.
  • Sales Opportunity Development: Actively identify and explore new sales opportunities for the company’s products and services within the territory.
  • Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare and submit detailed monthly sales reports, including area performance, budgets, and sales forecasts as required.
  • Professional Representation: Uphold high standards of professionalism and maintain a positive personal image, acting as a brand ambassador for the company.
  • Strategic Sales Planning: Plan and execute sales activities strategically to maximise resources and capitalise on opportunities within the territory.
  • CRM Management: Accurately input and maintain customer and sales data within the company’s CRM system for effective tracking and account management.
  • Trade Shows & Exhibitions: Participate in and support trade shows and exhibitions, enhancing brand visibility and networking with potential clients.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Support marketing initiatives within the sales territory to align promotional activities with business objectives.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other duties as needed to support the success of the sales and business development efforts.

Requirements

  • Degree educated in Electronics or a technical/science-based subject or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Has had some professional sales training.
  • Proficient in the use of CRM systems, LinkedIn and Microsoft office.
  • 5 years of experience in field sales and account management.
  • Knowledge of the industrial, security and medical device manufacturers in the North of the UK.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to solve problems.
  • Experienced in client-facing situations with the ability to persuade.
  • History of identifying opportunities, generating sales and cross-selling products.
  • Ability to cold call and to self-generate new leads and customers.
  • Ability to negotiate.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, positive, professional outlook
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written, and ability to present to an audience.
  • Can build, develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers.
  • Valid and Clean Driving Licence.
  • Ability to work from home.
  • Flexible around working hours for travel.
  • Ability to travel in the UK without restrictions.
