This exciting opportunity for an SMT Operator involves setting up and operating state-of-the-art SMT production lines, delivering high-quality electronic products for major OEMs across a variety of industries. The ideal candidate will play a key role in precision assembly, following detailed build instructions to produce cutting-edge technology for sectors including Automotive, Clean Energy, Communication & Broadcasting, Consumer Electronics, Defence & Aerospace, Homeland Security, IP Development Platforms, Medical, Scientific Research, and Space. This is a chance to work on high-impact projects in a fast-paced and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble products according to defined build instructions and IPC-A-610 standards to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Document any deviations from IPC-A-610 standards clearly and concisely within build instructions before starting work on customer products.
  • Verify that all processes are robust, clear, and capable of consistently meeting required standards, ensuring that available documentation supports expected results.
  • Confirm competency and training levels, ensuring the necessary skills are in place to meet or exceed expected performance standards.
  • Strictly follow all processes, identifying any gaps or potential improvements and reporting them to supervision for timely corrective actions, including updates to QMS documentation.
  • Adhere to company quality standards and procedures at all times.
  • Immediately notify supervision if a task cannot be completed within the quoted build times.

Requirements

  • Experience in pre-kitting for SMT machines.
  • Skilled in programming and operating stencil printers.
  • Proficient in loading placement programs and performing set value checks for SMT lines (Europlacer experience preferred).
  • Ability to create and adjust component package checks for SMT lines (Europlacer experience preferred).
  • Perform routine maintenance on SMT lines as needed.
  • Operate and maintain TSM and Heller ovens.
  • Manage and control solder paste usage.
  • Handle moisture-sensitive components following best practices.
  • Certified to IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Knowledge of EPICOR is advantageous
