An industry-leading provider of electronic components and integrated solutions is seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager. Established for nearly 50 years, operating across both the US and UK, this organisation delivers high-reliability products—including interconnect, electro-mechanical, and electronic components—designed for mission-critical applications. With a full suite of procurement and value-added services, this role offers the opportunity to drive growth by developing key relationships, identifying new markets, and contributing to the expansion of a trusted partner in the defense and commercial electronics space.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and capitalise on new business opportunities to drive market expansion.
- Build and sustain strong, trust-based relationships with current clients and new prospects.
- Conduct strategic market research to track industry trends, evaluate competitor positioning, and uncover areas for growth.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—sales, marketing, and product development—to ensure alignment on business objectives.
- Lead contract negotiations and successfully close high-value deals with key stakeholders.
- Craft and deliver persuasive presentations and tailored proposals to potential clients.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales goals and revenue targets.
- Analyse business performance metrics to refine strategies and maximise results.
- Represent the organisation at trade shows, conferences, and industry networking events to enhance brand visibility and forge new connections.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
- A proven track record in business development, sales, or account management—preferably within the electronics or technology industries.
- Strong technical understanding of electronic components, systems, or industry-specific solutions.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement effective strategic business plans.
- Sharp analytical skills paired with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Willing and able to travel as needed to support business growth and client engagement.
