As an Electronics Buyer, you will play a critical role in sourcing and managing the electronic components that underpin advanced vehicle systems. Working closely with engineering, production, and NPI teams, you will build and manage supplier relationships, support EMS/CEM partners, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality components to meet both production demands and ongoing development programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and secure critical electronic components, including semiconductors, sensors, PCBs, control modules, passives, and electromechanical parts.
- Manage supplier and EMS/CEM relationships to ensure performance across cost, quality, and lead-time targets.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes by working closely with engineering and supply chain teams, ensuring materials are aligned to development timelines.
- Lead commercial negotiations, including contracts, pricing, and long-term supply agreements.
- Monitor market dynamics, including shortages and obsolescence risks, taking a proactive approach to maintaining continuity of supply.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure procurement strategy is fully aligned with R&D objectives and production requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a procurement role such as Electronics Buyer, Procurement Specialist, or Commodity Manager within the electronics, automotive, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
- Strong understanding of electronic component sourcing, including managing EMS partners and supplier relationships.
- Experience supporting NPI or prototype programmes, with the ability to work closely alongside engineering and development teams.
- Confident negotiator with excellent communication skills, combined with a proactive, detail-focused approach.
- Fluent in English, with Spanish considered an advantage.
- Open to relocating to Barcelona or working on-site in Spain.
