A global manufacturer within the electronic components sector is seeking a Sales Engineer to support continued growth across key markets and customers. This role combines technical understanding with commercial focus, working closely with customers to identify requirements, support design activity, and position appropriate product solutions. The Sales Engineer will collaborate with application engineering and sales teams to develop opportunities, support key accounts, and contribute to long-term customer relationships within technically demanding industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts across the assigned territory, including distributor partners
  • Identify key influencers and decision-makers within target accounts, clearly communicating the commercial and technical value of the product portfolio
  • Grow the customer base through continuous prospecting and structured territory development
  • Develop and execute account strategies in collaboration with the Sales Manager and Team Leader to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Lead the follow-up and closing of major opportunities through proactive business development
  • Continuously analyse the market to identify new projects, trends, and growth opportunities
  • Present the company’s value proposition clearly and effectively to customers
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales data within CRM and SAP systems, including forecasting and pipeline updates
  • Support forecasting, budget planning, and regular reporting on sales performance
  • Travel regularly to customer sites, exhibitions, factories, and other business-critical meetings

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified, ideally at Master’s level, in Electrical Engineering, Switchgear Technology, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of three years’ relevant industry experience in a technical sales or engineering-focused role
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish, with confidence in commercial negotiation
  • Additional language skills are advantageous
  • Strong intercultural awareness with confident presentation and stakeholder-management skills
  • Proven ability to manage the full sales cycle across technical and senior decision-maker levels
  • Effective negotiator and persuasive communicator with a collaborative approach
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and self-driven, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Goal-focused and confident, with a consistent track record of achieving results
