Key Responsibilities
- Act as the engineering lead for assigned products and projects, taking ownership from design through to delivery
- Provide technical support for both new and existing products within a manufacturing environment
- Design PCBA and thick-film hybrid circuit layouts for customer-owned and customer-funded products, in line with defined requirements
- Produce and maintain complete drawing packs and associated manufacturing documentation
- Update and control engineering drawings and documents to support product changes and improvements
- Engage directly with customers and design partners to ensure technical requirements are met and designs are fit for purpose
- Contribute to cost-reduction initiatives and continuous improvement activities
- Identify and implement design, functional, or process optimisations for existing key products
- Support cross-functional teams by resolving design- or test-related issues and developing effective technical solutions
- Undertake additional engineering duties as required to support the efficiency, quality, and performance of the engineering team
Requirements
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a changing technical environment
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working within multi-disciplinary teams and managing ambiguity
- Degree-qualified in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent qualification or experience)
- Strong background in electronics design and circuit layout
- Experience working within aerospace, defence, or similarly regulated industries
- Working knowledge of ECAD/MCAD tools (e.g. Altium, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or similar)
- Familiarity with PCBA techniques, hybrid microelectronics, and electronic test methods
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems
- Security Cleared (SC) or eligible to obtain clearance
- Willingness to travel occasionally to other sites and customer locations
