This global manufacturer operating at the forefront of the Military, Aerospace, and Defence sectors is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth across strategic customers and programmes. Backed by the scale, reputation, and stability of a world-leading interconnect group, this business offers a strong sales culture, direct access to advanced engineering expertise, and the opportunity to influence high-reliability designs at an early stage. This is a sales-led role for someone who wants to win and maintain long-term profitable accounts, while benefiting from global infrastructure, long programme lifecycles, and genuine opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales and revenue targets across the Land and Sea markets, aligned with company and group objectives
  • Develop and execute a growth strategy focused on revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction
  • Manage and grow key accounts while identifying and converting new business opportunities
  • Maintain an accurate sales forecast and a strong opportunity pipeline, reporting on risks and progress
  • Act as the primary commercial interface between customers and internal teams to ensure effective delivery
  • Represent the business through regular customer visits, industry events, and exhibitions
  • Promote new products and technologies, supporting customer training where required
  • Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of the organisation’s and competitors’ products and/or services
  • Specific responsibility for developing new business from new accounts
  • Manage sales performance through key performance indicators
  • Contribute to key Company processes and systems such as S&OP, CRM and Strategy/Budget preparation

Requirements

  • Demonstrate strong market and application knowledge, including customer requirements and technology trends
  • Sales experience
  • Willingness to travel
