This global manufacturing business within the electronic components sector is seeking a Key Account Manager to manage and develop strategic customer relationships across its portfolio. This role is suited to a commercially driven individual with strong relationship management skills and experience working with key or strategic accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving account growth, managing pricing and commercial agreements, coordinating internally with sales, engineering, and operations teams, and ensuring a high level of service delivery to customers. This opportunity offers the chance to work with a technically diverse product range, operate in an international environment, and play a key role in long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Combine strong personal sales performance with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a small sales team.
  • Own and execute the territory growth strategy in line with the wider group’s commercial objectives.
  • Coach and support team members to drive market share growth and commercial performance.
  • Engage and influence internal teams to ensure timely, high-quality support across quotations, logistics, application engineering, and quality.
  • Manage a portfolio of strategic and high-value accounts, taking ownership of account strategy, planning, and long-term relationship development.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities and projects in close collaboration with application engineers and commercial colleagues.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers.
  • Travel regularly to customer sites, exhibitions, factories, and other business-critical meetings.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate leadership potential, with 5 years of previous experience.
  • Comfortable working in an international, multicultural environment, with strong intercultural awareness.
  • Effective presenter and communicator, able to engage confidently with stakeholders from engineering teams through to senior management.
  • Proven ability to manage the full sales cycle, from initial engagement to negotiation and close.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Naturally confident leader with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and self-driven, with the ability to set and achieve clear goals.
  • Extensive travel.
  • Additional language skills are advantageous.
