An exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing leader to shape and deliver the European marketing strategy for a high-growth, internationally recognised business. As Head of Marketing – Europe, you will take ownership of a broad and impactful remit, spanning supplier marketing, brand, digital channels, design, and public relations—playing a key role in driving growth, elevating brand presence, and strengthening customer engagement across the region.

Sitting on the European Leadership Team, you will work closely with senior stakeholders to influence strategic direction and deliver measurable commercial impact. This is a digitally led role, offering the chance to leverage and further develop expertise across paid and organic search, marketing automation, and data-driven campaigns, alongside brand, advertising, PR, and co-marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the European marketing strategy in close collaboration with key stakeholders, taking full ownership of budget management to maximise performance and return on investment. Drive sales and margin growth through eCommerce and marketplace channels, while leading the day-to-day operations of the marketing function, including team prioritisation, hiring, and development.
  • Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators, ensuring all activity is aligned to commercial objectives. Plan and execute integrated campaigns to build brand awareness and clearly communicate value propositions, supported by a structured marketing calendar covering product launches, trade shows, campaigns, and co-marketing initiatives.
  • Lead market research activities to assess brand positioning, customer satisfaction, and overall experience, using insights to inform strategy and continuous improvement. Drive new customer acquisition through digital channels and emerging platforms, while overseeing the digital experience across all European web properties to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Take ownership of digital content, ensuring product information is accurate, comprehensive, and supports customer self-service. Lead inbound marketing activity, including SEO and paid search, managing associated budgets and optimising performance across all digital channels. Identify and develop new marketplace opportunities, expanding reach through major online platforms.
  • Develop and mentor the digital marketing team to improve capability, independence, and performance, while ensuring high standards of product representation across all channels. Analyse customer data, market trends, and competitive activity to shape strategy, working closely with Sales to enhance lead generation and nurturing processes.
  • Oversee the creation of marketing collateral, including press releases and advertising, and contribute to wider business initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline, with a minimum of five years’ experience in eCommerce and digital marketing, ideally within an industrial distribution environment. Strong expertise across key digital channels, including SEO, paid search, and online marketplaces, alongside a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and coaching skills, combined with strong project management capability and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based technologies is expected.
  • Experience working with marketing and business systems such as marketing automation platforms, CRM, CMS, eCommerce platforms, and integration tools is essential. You should also be comfortable travelling across Europe as required for business needs, including office visits, trade shows, and customer engagement.
