Join this growing international Electronic Components manufacturer and take ownership of a strategically important sales territory across Southern Europe. This is an opportunity for a commercially driven Area Sales Manager to work with established distribution partners, engage directly with OEM customers, and drive long-term revenue growth across key European markets. You’ll be responsible for developing new business opportunities, supporting design-in activity, delivering product training, and building strong relationships throughout the supply chain. With the freedom to manage your territory remotely, backed by a respected global brand and a high-quality product portfolio, this role offers the chance to make a genuine impact while working with some of the industry’s leading distributors and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop strategic distributor relationships across Southern Europe.
- Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities through distribution partners and direct customer engagement.
- Drive demand creation activities and support design-in opportunities with OEM customers.
- Deliver product presentations, technical overviews, and sales training to distributor sales teams.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of projects, opportunities, and customer activities within the territory.
- Work closely with distribution partners to increase market share, revenue, and customer penetration.
- Conduct regular customer visits to understand application requirements and support project development.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, market intelligence, and competitor feedback to senior management.
- Collaborate with internal sales, marketing, product management, and engineering teams to support customer requirements.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, exhibitions, trade shows, and industry events throughout Europe.
- Monitor territory performance against sales targets and implement corrective actions where required.
- Act as the primary commercial contact for customers and distribution partners within the assigned region.
Requirements
- Proven sales experience within the Electronic Components industry.
- Background working for a component manufacturer, franchised distributor, or related technology business.
- Demonstrable success in managing distributors and developing sales through channel partners.
- Strong business development and account management skills with the ability to identify and convert new opportunities.
- Experience supporting OEM customers and managing design-in or demand creation activities.
- Understanding of the European electronics market and associated sales channels.
- Ability to build credibility with distributor sales teams, engineers, purchasing professionals, and senior decision-makers.
- Commercially minded with strong negotiation, forecasting, and territory management skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing a remote territory with minimal supervision.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Southern Europe.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
- Experience with power supplies, AC-DC power supplies, DC-DC converters, or related electronic component technologies would be advantageous.
- Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools.
- Full driving licence and a valid passport for European travel.
