An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Product Manager to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of electronic and electromechanical products within an established UK manufacturer. This is a commercially focused technical role with real influence over product strategy, new product development, market growth and the complete product lifecycle. Working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and manufacturing teams across the UK and Far East, the successful candidate will identify new market opportunities, help shape future product development and drive the commercial performance of the existing portfolio. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines electronics knowledge with strong commercial awareness and wants to play a key role in the continued growth of a manufacturing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and manage the product roadmap across connectors, cable assemblies, test products and related electronic components.
- Identify new product and market opportunities through customer feedback, market analysis and competitor research.
- Manage the complete product lifecycle, from initial concept and development through to launch, growth and end-of-life.
- Work closely with OEM customers, distribution partners and sales teams to understand market requirements and future product needs.
- Identify growth opportunities across industrial electronics, instrumentation, professional audio and Test & Measurement markets.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on product design, specifications, prototypes, testing and validation.
- Ensure products meet relevant technical standards, approvals and certifications.
- Monitor product performance, sales trends, profitability and market positioning.
- Develop pricing strategies to support margin and commercial growth.
- Build business cases and ROI analysis for new product introductions and development projects.
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, sales and marketing to successfully bring products to market.
- Support product positioning, technical documentation, datasheets and wider marketing activities.
- Provide product training and technical support to internal teams, customers and distribution partners.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Product Manager, Product Engineer or Product Marketing Manager within electronics, electronic components or industrial manufacturing.
- Strong technical understanding of electronic components, connectors and/or electromechanical products.
- Proven ability to translate technical requirements into commercially successful products.
- Experience managing the full product lifecycle, including new product development and successful product launches.
- Strong commercial awareness with good analytical and financial skills.
- Experience in product strategy, market analysis and competitive positioning.
- Confident managing multiple projects and working with stakeholders across engineering, sales, marketing and manufacturing.
- Experience working with OEM customers and/or electronic component distributors would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, cable assemblies, metal fabrication or electronics manufacturing would be beneficial.
- Experience working across international markets and global supply chains would be advantageous.
- A degree or equivalent technical qualification in Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering would be beneficial.
