An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Area Sales Manager to take ownership of an established geographic territory and drive its continued growth. This is a field-based sales position combining account management and new business development, with responsibility for developing existing customers, winning new accounts and increasing sales across the wider product portfolio. The successful candidate will have the freedom to manage their territory, build a strong pipeline and develop long-term customer relationships, while using their knowledge of the market to identify new opportunities and consistently grow revenue and market share.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the assigned territory, delivering consistent sales and revenue growth against agreed targets.
- Develop and execute a structured territory sales plan to maximise market coverage and opportunity.
- Conduct regular customer visits and effectively manage travel, appointments and territory activity.
- Build and develop strong, long-term relationships with key customers and decision-makers.
- Proactively identify and win new business opportunities through prospecting, networking and market research.
- Grow existing accounts by identifying additional requirements and promoting the wider product portfolio.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline covering short, medium and long-term opportunities.
- Manage opportunities from initial engagement through quotation, RFQ and order conversion.
- Maintain accurate customer activity, visit reports, quotations and opportunities within the Maximiser CRM system.
- Develop strong technical and commercial knowledge of the company’s products and applications.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing, market developments and emerging opportunities within the territory.
- Provide regular market and customer feedback to support wider commercial and product strategy.
- Represent the business professionally at customer meetings, exhibitions, trade shows and industry events.
- Balance field-based selling with effective administration, planning and follow-up.
- Regularly review performance against sales targets and KPIs, taking action to maximise territory performance.
