This position is ideally suited to a successful sales professional with a strong background in electronic component brokerage, established industry relationships and a passion for winning new business.

The successful candidate will focus on developing new relationships with OEM and EMS customers, generating and converting RFQs, and building profitable, long-term accounts. Working alongside an international network of sourcing, purchasing and quality teams, the role offers the opportunity to provide customers with competitive solutions for component shortages, obsolete parts, excess inventory and wider supply-chain challenges.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and well-connected sales professional looking to maximise their commercial potential within a growing international organisation, benefiting from extensive global sourcing capabilities, established quality infrastructure and the backing of a major electronics group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, target and secure new business opportunities with OEM, EMS and electronics manufacturing customers across the UK.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with purchasing professionals, commodity managers and supply-chain decision-makers.
  • Generate, manage and convert customer RFQs, specialising in shortage, allocated, obsolete and end-of-life electronic components.
  • Grow and develop existing customer accounts through regular engagement, strategic account planning and repeat business opportunities.
  • Work closely with international sourcing, trading, purchasing and quality teams to deliver competitive pricing, reliable supply and effective customer solutions.
  • Negotiate pricing, margins and commercial agreements to maximise gross profit while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Identify opportunities within excess inventory management, component sourcing and wider supply-chain services to increase account revenue.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, accurately tracking customer activity, opportunities and revenue forecasts.
  • Monitor market conditions, component availability, pricing trends and supply-chain developments to identify new commercial opportunities.
  • Take a proactive approach to customer engagement, generating new RFQs and strengthening relationships with existing and prospective accounts.
  • Attend customer meetings, industry exhibitions and networking events throughout the UK to develop business relationships and increase market presence.
  • Collaborate with internal and international teams to ensure a responsive, professional service and consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of success within independent electronic component distribution, brokerage or the open-market sourcing sector.
  • Established relationships with UK-based OEM and EMS customers, particularly purchasing, procurement and supply-chain decision-makers.
  • An active network of industry contacts with the ability to generate new RFQs and develop profitable business opportunities from existing relationships.
  • Strong understanding of the electronic components spot market, including component shortages, allocation, obsolescence and market pricing trends.
  • Demonstrable experience in winning new customer accounts, developing existing business and generating consistent, profitable sales revenue.
  • Confident managing customer RFQs, negotiating competitive pricing and securing orders while maintaining healthy gross profit margins.
  • Good commercial awareness, with the ability to identify market opportunities and provide customers with effective sourcing and supply-chain solutions.
  • Experience working collaboratively with international sourcing, purchasing and trading teams to fulfil customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage with senior purchasing professionals and key decision-makers.
  • A proactive, self-motivated and results-driven approach, with the ambition to develop new business and consistently exceed sales targets.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer enquiries, prioritise opportunities and maintain an accurate sales pipeline.
  • Based in the UK, with the flexibility and willingness to travel nationally for customer meetings, business development activities and industry events.
