An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially driven Regional Sales Manager to join a leading global independent distributor of electronic components, based in Austin, Texas. This position offers an excellent opportunity for either an established sales leader or a high-performing electronic components sales professional looking to take the next step into management within a growing international organisation.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading, coaching and developing a team of approximately eight sales professionals, driving revenue growth, strengthening customer relationships and maximising regional sales performance. With a strong emphasis on hands-on leadership, the role will involve working closely with the sales team to develop commercial opportunities, improve performance and build a successful, results-driven sales culture.

This is an outstanding opportunity to take ownership of an expanding sales operation within an established global business and uncapped earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on sales coaching, mentoring and ongoing training to improve individual performance and team effectiveness.
  • Take ownership of regional sales performance, driving revenue growth, gross profit generation and overall commercial success.
  • Work directly with sales representatives to develop customer accounts, identify new business opportunities and support commercial negotiations.
  • Strengthen sales pipelines by coaching team members on prospecting, opportunity qualification, customer engagement and closing techniques.
  • Establish clear sales objectives, monitor individual and team KPIs, and implement development plans to improve performance.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding and training of new sales professionals, ensuring a smooth transition into the business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers and industry stakeholders across the electronic components market.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts, increase market share and develop new revenue streams across the region.
  • Create a positive, accountable and results-driven sales environment that encourages collaboration, continuous improvement and commercial success.
  • Monitor sales activity, pipeline performance and revenue forecasts, providing accurate reporting and commercial insights to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with regional and international management teams to deliver wider business objectives and support long-term growth.
  • Lead by example through active involvement in customer meetings, sales discussions and day-to-day commercial activities, maintaining a strong presence alongside the sales team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience within the electronic components industry, ideally gained in independent distribution, brokerage or a closely related sector.
  • A successful track record in electronic components sales, account management or business development, consistently achieving commercial targets.
  • Previous sales leadership experience or a minimum of approximately five years in a successful sales position, with the ambition and capability to progress into management.
  • Strong knowledge of the electronic components market, including customer purchasing behaviours, supply chain dynamics and commercial sales processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage with customers, sales professionals and senior management.
  • The ability to lead, motivate and develop a sales team, adapting coaching and management styles to suit different levels of experience.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with a clear understanding of revenue generation, gross profit, sales margins and overall business performance.
  • A proactive, hands-on leadership approach, with the confidence to support sales negotiations, customer development and new business generation.
  • Experience managing or supervising a sales team within an independent electronic components distributor would be highly advantageous.
  • Established relationships across OEM, EMS/CEM and electronic component distribution markets would be beneficial.
  • Previous involvement in recruiting, onboarding, training and developing junior or experienced sales professionals.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced, target-driven or internationally expanding business environment.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to monitor sales performance, identify areas for improvement and implement effective strategies.
  • A results-driven, self-motivated individual who leads by example, takes accountability and thrives on developing successful sales teams.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership while taking ownership of regional sales performance and team development.
  • Willingness and ability to work on-site in Austin, Texas, five days per week.
