A market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of rugged portable and industrial embedded computing is looking to expand its external sales team. This is a full-time role with a competitive salary of up to £60k base and is field based, covering the whole of the UK.

As the business development engineer, you will be primarily responsible for increasing the design pipeline through new customer development and increasing current customer penetration, as well as managing customer relationships with the sales team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing the business unit’s strategic sales objectives
  • Providing a consultative technical solution to meet the customers’ needs
  • Seek out new OEM accounts through prospecting and customer meetings
  • Identify and create new opportunities in the robotics & autonomous, life science and energy & power market sectors
  • Promote the company’s range of products and services with participation in tradeshows to generate new leads where required
  • Strategically position value proposition to key accounts
  • Develop customer relationships and manage accounts in targeted vertical markets
  • Negotiate and close sales orders
  • Preparation of proposals


  • Proven track record driving sales in an OEM environment
  • Technical knowledge of embedded computing technology
  • Prior Experience working in Hi-Reliability Sectors
  • Must be a UK citizen
  • Willingness to travel where necessary
