We are seeking an accomplished leader to develop the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment management systems within this Hi-Rel business. In this pivotal role, you will maintain their esteemed certifications, including AS9100 and ISO 14001, and integrate legacy processes and systems into a cohesive and efficient business management system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Govern, integrate, and simplify the Business Management System.
  • Prioritize the quality of products supplied to customers as a fundamental focus of the organization.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through effective process control, measurement, and improvement planning.
  • Ensure that internal and external audits are conducted according to the established schedule.
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including tracking the closure of actions.
  • Lead and support quality investigations, maintaining clear communication with customers and suppliers.
  • Oversee customer returns, ensuring that findings from investigations are utilized for process enhancements.
  • Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and customer-required datapacks.
  • Manage calibration processes.
  • Supervise the Inspection team, providing a resource pool that supports business needs.
  • Establish processes to determine inspection requirements for incoming materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Develop skills and training plans to ensure adequate quality and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) competencies within the business.
  • Manage health and safety risk assessments.
  • Monitor and track EHS legislation and facility requirements, ensuring business compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and other regulatory standards.
  • Oversee security processes.
  • Manage visitor and contractor processes.
  • Liaise with the landlord and site security.
  • Cover for other managers and act as a deputy as needed.
  • Step in for the General Manager and assist with other projects as required.

 

Key Deliverables

  • Integrate and simplify the legacy Business Management System.
  • Successfully implement new processes and systems while gaining stakeholder buy-in.
  • Maintain AS9100 and ISO 14001 certifications effectively.
  • Improve scrap and yield metrics by introducing robust Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) for key contributors.
  • Monitor and report on safety and environmental incidents to drive continuous improvement.

 

Key Metrics

  • Establish and agree upon milestones and metrics for the business process simplification program.
  • Quality metrics, including yield, quality escapes, aging NCRs, and scrap rates.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment metrics, including accidents, near misses, improvement actions, and adherence to action plans.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in managing change and overseeing projects related to business management systems.
  • Familiarity with quality and environmental standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 14001) with AS9100 auditor training preferred.
  • Background in electronics manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, as well as building regulations.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capability to build cross-functional relationships.
  • Confident presenter, adept at engaging both customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with exceptional planning skills.
  • Proficient in using business software tools, including Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP systems.
